I absolutely love this restaurant. I happen to be well acquainted with Jimmy, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about when you say he own a $120,000 sports car and Rolls, he is a very modest and humble man. You were probably sent to the bar because you didn't make reservations and there was a long wait, how is that his fault? Also, I personally think the back room is beautifully decorated, and what view do you really need in a restaurant? About the expensive drinks at the bar-- I cannot defend that one. But is there any chic place in Manhattan that sells a martini for much less than $10? It's Midtown for God's sake. Don't listen to that guy's review, Chin Chin is a great restaurant with amazing food, great service (even if you're not a good friend of Jimmy, the owner), and wonderful ambience. I had been going to this restaurant for years and always thought the food was very good as well as the service BUT I have since gone back twice, once with my family and once with business people. I should add that Iwas there for them when the restaurant was empty, no customers and a wait staff just hanging arround reading the newspapers.When I returned the first time I was sent to the bar to wait at least 45 minutes for a table and watched Jimmy greet and seat his pals. The second time Iwent back I was sent to the bar again to wait for a table and when one was avalable it was in the back room,no view and poor service. I should mention that the drinks at the bar are 10-12$ each and not worth it. You can draw your own opinions as to why so many people are sent to wait there. I guess this is the way that Jimmy gets his 120,000$ sports cars and his Rolls. I have not been back since and will not ever return, I have also filled in all my friends and found out that they were having the same problems--sent to the bar to wait and order $12 martinis and $11 cosmos.
